Quality Mechanical Services (QMS) was selected to provide critical HVAC infrastructure upgrades for the Upstate Cancer Center Data Center in Syracuse, New York. This project focused on enhancing the reliability, performance, and redundancy of the facility’s cooling systems to support mission-critical data center operations and ensure continuous environmental control for sensitive equipment. QMS’s scope included the demolition and removal of an existing Computer Room Air Conditioning (CRAC) unit, rooftop air-cooled condensing equipment, associated refrigerant piping, insulation, and mechanical accessories. The project also involved the installation of a new CRAC system, replacement rooftop condensing unit, upgraded refrigerant piping insulation, and a new exhaust ventilation system designed to improve overall system performance and reliability. Given the critical nature of healthcare data center operations, the project required meticulous planning, rigging coordination, phased equipment replacement, and temporary cooling provisions to maintain operational continuity throughout construction. QMS worked closely with facility personnel, controls contractors, and project stakeholders to execute the upgrade with minimal disruption to ongoing operations. The Upstate Cancer Center Data Center Upgrade highlights QMS’s expertise in mission-critical environments, precision cooling systems, and complex HVAC renovations. Through careful coordination and quality craftsmanship, QMS delivered a dependable cooling solution designed to support the long-term reliability and performance of essential healthcare technology infrastructure.
