SUNY Oswego Sheldon Hall
Quality Mechanical Services (QMS) was selected to provide the HVAC construction package for the historic restoration and reconstruction of Sheldon Hall at SUNY Oswego. As one of the campus’s most recognizable landmark buildings, the project required careful integration of modern mechanical systems within a historic structure while preserving the architectural character and integrity of the facility. QMS furnished and installed a comprehensive HVAC system designed to enhance occupant comfort, indoor air quality, and energy efficiency throughout the building. The project included the installation of heat recovery ventilation (HRV) units, dehumidification equipment, ventilation fans, ductwork, motorized dampers, building controls, condensate systems, air distribution components, and associated mechanical infrastructure. Extensive balancing, commissioning, and system startup services were also provided to ensure optimal long-term performance. Working within an active university environment and a historically significant facility required detailed coordination, field verification, and collaboration with project stakeholders. QMS leveraged its expertise in complex institutional renovations to seamlessly integrate modern HVAC technologies while supporting the building’s preservation goals. The completed project delivers improved ventilation, enhanced environmental control, and reliable mechanical performance while preserving the historic character of Sheldon Hall for future generations of students, faculty, and visitors. This project highlights QMS’s expertise in higher education facilities, historic renovations, and advanced HVAC system installations.
