Cortland, NY

Quality Mechanical Services (QMS) was selected to provide the HVAC design and installation services required to support the expansion of a C1D1-rated extraction laboratory for New York Hemp Oil in Cortland, New York. This specialized project required the integration of dedicated ventilation and fresh air systems designed to meet the stringent safety and operational requirements associated with hazardous extraction environments. QMS engineered and installed a dedicated outdoor air system (DOAS) to provide conditioned make-up air for the new UL-listed extraction laboratory pod. The design incorporated a two-speed, AMCA-certified exhaust system capable of operating in both standard and emergency alarm modes, providing up to 133 air changes per hour to maintain a safe operating environment and support C1D1 compliance requirements. The project included installation of the dedicated outdoor air unit, supply and exhaust air distribution systems, and coordination of airflow strategies to ensure proper ventilation, pressure relationships, and occupant safety. QMS also coordinated system performance verification through third-party engineering review and air balancing services. This project highlights QMS’s expertise in mission-critical ventilation systems, hazardous occupancy environments, and industrial process support. Through careful planning, code-compliant design, and precise execution, QMS delivered a reliable mechanical solution that supports safety, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance within a highly specialized laboratory setting.
