Henninger High School

Quality Mechanical Services (QMS) was selected to provide the complete HVAC construction package for the extensive renovation of Henninger High School in Syracuse, New York. This large-scale educational facility modernization project required the installation of advanced heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems designed to improve indoor air quality, occupant comfort, energy efficiency, and long-term building performance. QMS’s scope included selective demolition of existing mechanical systems and the installation of new air handling units, rooftop units, energy recovery systems, variable air volume (VAV) systems, fan coil units, cabinet unit heaters, unit ventilators, finned tube radiation components, exhaust systems, louvers, dampers, ductwork, insulation, and associated hydronic piping throughout multiple building areas. The project also included testing, adjusting, balancing, certified duct cleaning, water treatment services, startup, and commissioning activities. A major component of the project involved the installation of four air handling units, four rooftop units, two energy recovery units, and more than 100 VAV terminal units, creating a highly efficient and flexible HVAC system capable of meeting the diverse needs of classrooms, administrative spaces, and common areas. BIM coordination was utilized throughout the project to improve installation accuracy and facilitate seamless coordination among project stakeholders. The Henninger High School Renovation demonstrates QMS’s expertise in large-scale educational facilities, complex HVAC infrastructure, and institutional construction projects. Through detailed planning, advanced coordination, and quality craftsmanship, QMS helped deliver a modern learning environment designed to support students, faculty, and staff for decades to come.
