Equitable Towers
Quality Mechanical Services (QMS) was selected to provide the HVAC renovation and BIM coordination services for a major office space redevelopment within the historic Equitable Towers building in downtown Syracuse, New York. Located at 100 Madison Street, this project required the modernization of existing mechanical systems while maintaining operations within an active commercial office environment. QMS’s scope included selective demolition of existing HVAC infrastructure, installation of new variable air volume (VAV) systems, hot water reheat coils, ClimateMaster heat pump equipment, outdoor air systems, electric duct heaters, condensate management systems, and associated ductwork and piping. The project also included integration and expansion of the building’s existing Alerton building automation system, providing enhanced control, monitoring, and energy management capabilities throughout the renovated space. A key component of the project was the use of advanced BIM coordination and 3D laser scanning technology. QMS managed the virtual coordination process, developing detailed Revit models and coordinating with multiple trades to identify conflicts prior to construction, improving installation efficiency and reducing field modifications. The project also included comprehensive testing, adjusting, balancing, startup, commissioning, and performance verification to ensure optimal system operation and occupant comfort. Through detailed planning, innovative technology, and quality craftsmanship, QMS delivered a high-performance mechanical solution that supports the evolving needs of one of Syracuse’s premier commercial office properties.
